Poems are piece of art which can express the beauty of life in just few lines. A single poem can teach and extremely important and valuable lesson which cannot be understood even after reading a long article....and that too in just few lines. That's the beauty of poems and the power which it has. The book which we are reviewing today is one such compilation of various poems. Before I start talking about the book....I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the author of this book Kartikey Sehgal for sending a copy of this book for review.

So let's quickly take a look and synopsis and start with the actual review:

The author takes twelve 'classical' love poems and relates them to our present day life.

Every chapter begins with a lovely classical love poem, and then the author connects it to our modern life.

Some lines from the book:

'What do we need? A place and time where what twitters is the bird, and we interpret it in a million words.'

'Those sighs make songs, they make poetry. And nothing is truer than that which comes from the fountain of soul.'

'And without poetry how will we consider the feelings of those luscious women who make daily efforts on their face and hair? Is is not a compliment to a woman's efforts to tell her poetically that she has 'Traced every lock with fond delays, And, doting, lingered there'?'

The beauty of the poems is that they are subjected to various interpretations. Two people may interpret the same poem in a different fashion based on the experiences they had. In this book, Kartikey Sehgal is trying to portray his interpretation of twelve classical poems and tries to link it to our modern day life style.

When I got this book and...I was pretty excited to start reading it. I actually loved the concept of relating the classical love poems with the modern interpretation of love. This is something...which the young generation people can easily relate to and would love reading. The concept of rekindling the classical romance is very much interesting and fascinating. At few places....Kartikey Sehgal has explained some of the poems in a really beautiful and simple fashion....which definitely caught me by surprise.

I must say that I did love some of his interpretations but I did't agree with each one of them. Can't actually complain much about this as those interpretations are very much subjective. Also in some interpretations...I felt like Kartikey Sehgal was trying to fit in the modern aspects forcibly...which actually affected my reading experience. I wish....Kartikey Sehgal could have been a bit more natural while expressing those views.

Also....one more thing which I would like to see get better is the inter connectivity between two subsequent poems...as that will greatly improve the reading experience a lot. While moving from one poem to another...I felt like they lack connectivity....this thing takes away the effect and experience which the previous poem had on the readers mind.

It might appear as if I am bashing about the book....but the thing is I sincerely want to see this book get better in the next version as I genuinely feel this book can be a lot better as compared to its current state.

So to sum up, I was not very much impressed with this book...I did love the concept but it lack in the execution part. To rate this book, I would give it 1.5 stars out of 5. The book which we are reviewing today is Barking Madness written by Ryan Hill. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Ryan Hill for sending in  a copy of this book for review.

So lets quickly take a look at the synopsis and start with the review.

The first thing that grab my attention was that this book is around 490 pages long. I was really skeptical whether anyone will pick this book and read....but then decided to give it a try. When I finally started reading...I really liked the fact that Ryan Hill was starting the story slowly which is actually quite good....given the fact that he can write a stellar story since he has 490  pages to write and narrate the story in a beautiful fashion.

That was the case till I completed reading half the book. I really loved how he went about reading and narrating the story and was attached to the story. However, after a while Ryan Hill started incorporating more elements into the story which actually started making the story complex for the readers. This is were things started going south.

In the beginning of the story, I was so much into the story because of the beautiful characters and nice writing and narration. I also liked the paced with which Ryan Hill was advancing the story. The transitions were between the chapters and within the chapters were smooth and steady. The language and the vocabulary used were nice and easy making the story appealing to Non-English speaking audience as well.

After the first half, Ryan Hill started adding so many elements into the story....that i became difficult to cope up with the story. I felt like the attention to details was lacking. The way Ryan Hill was twisting the plot if felt like I was reading a complete different book altogether....especially towards the end. After completing the book....I felt like I had two different books on the same story line. Just to be sure I didn't have this feeling because of missing on some aspect....so I read the complete book once again....and I had the same impression even after my second reading. Also I felt like somethings were left unexplained till the end of the book which kept me guessing about the occurrence of the entire events in the book.

I really wish....had Ryan Hill kept a simple story line with not too complicated plot twist....this book would have a nice read. Also considering the fact...that he has more than 400 pages to narrate the entire story line....he could have drafted the story in an intriguing fashion.

So to sum up....I felt that this book could have been slightly better. Many people would be having a second thought before picking up this book as reading a 500 pages book is quite intimidating...especially for those people who are not frequent readers. To rate it....I would give this book 2.5 stars out of 5. Still if you want to pick this book...I will leave links to the Amazon from where you can get a copy of this book.

As many of you may know....blogging is such a fun activity. Can we actually use the skills which we learn because of blogging in real life and that to for solving a crime mystery....that is what today's book is all about. Blogging For Murder is a crime mystery book written by Gilian Baker. But before beginning with the actual book I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Ryan Stabile for providing the ARC of the book.

The thing which really grab my attention was the video trailer and the story of the book in itself. The story was looking promising before I began reading it (being a blogger myself I was bound to get attracted). The story is centered around or protagonist blogger Jade Blackwell who uses her interrogation skills which she learned by reading the mystery thriller book for proving the innocence of her fellow blogger friend who is charged of committing a murder. Jade believes that her friend is wrongly acquainted of the murder charge and decides to find the real culprit herself. The story really seems interesting and unique to me and many of you will also feel the same.

The characters feels good but could have been a bit better. The author Gilian Baker did a great job in creating few central characters and created the entire story plot around these few characters which actually makes it easy for the readers to stay with the characters as the story progresses. However, the remaining characters could have been use in a better way. Still no complains..

The writing and the narration is pretty good. The author Gilian Baker has used simple vocabulary and simple language which makes it easy for majority of the readers to enjoy and get engrossed in the story without having to deal with the language difficulty. The narration is excellent. This book had my complete attention since the beginning of the book. Gilian Baker managed to grab my attention in just few pages and I was completely engrossed into the story. The mids and the end were also the same. One interesting thing I would like to highlight is that in the middle when the character was feeling confused as to what was happening...the narration also adapted the same confusion. Loved that aspect....It lets you feel a much intimate affection with the characters itself.

The transitions.....both in terms of the  transition of the story within the chapter and the transition between the chapters were pretty good and was going with the pace of the book. Kudos to Gilian Baker for that.

However, I wished the end could have been planned a little better. I felt the end was little rushed as the author unveiled the complete suspense in just 10-12 pages which slightly bothered me. I would have loved if the end could have been a little better also since the book is just 190 pages....addition of few extra pages could have been better for proper ending to the book. Also, there were few typos at some places. Since, this is an ARC copy....I am expecting this errors to be resolved in the actual release.

So to sum up, I liked the book. For me personally it was good read and worth the time which I spent reading this book. If asked to rate it, I would give this book 3.5 stars out of 5. Finally back after a good long break. The book which we are reviewing today i.e "An Enlightening Quiche" is written by an Indie author Eva Pasco. I would like to express my sincere gratitude for sending in the review copy and also for being patient for so long.

Lets quickly start with the synopsis followed by the complete review:

Lets start with the cover. The cover looks so amazing. The image of yummy quiche does make you immediately pick up the book and start reading and I am pretty sure everyone will feel the same because who doesn't love food. This book is a contemporary women fiction novel and since I am not a big follower of that genre I was a bit hesitant and skeptical but surely this book did change my perception.

It is a story of two women and their rivalry savored in the beautiful taste of the quiche. This story is so intriguing that I enjoyed myself immensely reading each and every page of the novel. This book gives a very interesting perspective to friendship and relationships in general. You will surely enjoy reading this story. The characters are very well conceptualized and I could easily relate to them. Kudos to Eva Pasco for fabricating such a nice story which everyone will love to read.

Coming to the writing and narration part....This book is a treat to read. Eva Pasco has done a very commendable job in writing and narrating the entire story. While describing the areas in the book I literally felt like I was walking down the road and someone was describing me the beauty of the place in person which I really loved. The last book which I read which was so bang on in the descriptive part...if I can recall correctly was the Harry Potter series, Loved the narration and the writing.

However, this book might not be for everyone. An Enlightening Quiche is a very well written complex story which might not appeal to everyone especially to those people who love reading simple book which is easy to understand. Also the vocabulary and language used is slightly advanced. So if you are a person who finds it difficult to understand some advanced English or if you belong to a non-english speaking country, then you might slightly find it difficult to understand the story in the first go. However I will highly suggest that you should spend the time in understanding the story as it will be worth all the time you spent while reading this book.

So to sum up, I really liked the story and I immensely enjoyed reading this book. Picking this book is a no-brainer. I highly recommend reading this book. To rate it, I will give this book 4.5 stars out of 5. So if you are looking for a book in the contemporary fiction genre this is the book which you need to pick. Finding Juliet - Toffee Review

Few days back, I saw a post on the Instagram where it was written that "People don't fall in love anymore...they just find temporary attachment who can entertain them". This statement made me crazy and was seriously thinking over it for quite a long time. The book which we are reviewing today gave me the exact same feeling which I felt after reading that Instagram post. So lets begin with the review of today's book, Finding Juliet written by Toffee. Before beginning with the actual review, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Tushti Bhatia from Author Paradise for sending in the book for the review.

The thing which excited me to pick up this book even before reading the synopsis was the cover and the title of the book. I must say, the cover of the book really looks good and goes really well with the theme of the book. Same goes with the title as well. I can't think of any better title that could properly summarize the entire concept of the book. Kudos to the author for selecting such a nice cover and really interesting title for the book.

The next thing I would like to mention is the content as well as the theme of the book itself. This book beautifully highlights the difference between Love, Lust and Life in general and how these three things function and behave in general. I am quite sure, many of us would have gone through a phase where we have infatuation in our teen years and we often misunderstand it as love and start chasing that infatuations so blindly that when the infatuation ceases, we get badly devastated and start lusting. Finding Juliet is a story of a boy who goes through this exact same phase which many of us surely would have gone through and understanding the basic difference between Love and Lust.

The USP of the book is the theme itself. Everyone reading this book can easily relate to the book as many of us have gone through such a feeling. The book is simple, crisp and to the point. Toffee has done really great job in formulating the concept and the content of the book. Kudos for that.

The next thing which I would like to talk about are the characters. The characters are really nice and feels genuine to me. They are definitely not shallow and I seriously liked some of the characters in the book. There are very few central characters in the story which makes it easy for the reader to stay with the story and have a good reading experience.

However, not everything is rosy about the book. I was slightly disappointed in terms of writing and narrating. The writing and the narration could have been a tad better in my frank opinion. The book has really nice beginning and end however it was struggling in the mid section. I started liking the book immediately after reading first few chapters and really enjoyed the first 100 pages of the book. The language used is quite casual and very simple to understand and I am quite sure you will have an instant connection with the story. However, later for some good 50 pages, nothing was quite happening with the story line. The plot was running on the same level with no twists happening. I feel that the author Toffee could have made this part slightly more interesting, as 50 pages out of  total 220 pages with no major plot twists happening can be a serious turn off for the readers.

Also in the exact same section in the mid, there were lots of details missing as many characters were being involved in the story and each of them have a simultaneous story line to be discussed. For eg. When Aditi and Arjun were having the central part in the story, I kept thinking about the Esha and Ruchika's character and their contribution to the story in that particular instant, as both these characters were still there in the plot sequence at that time. These are the minute details which I often look in any book and I felt those things were clearly missing.

But I must say, the author did really well in formulating the end of the book. I actually kind of knew what the end was going to be after reading some 120-130 pages but I really liked the way Toffee has conceptualized and written the end.

So to sum up, for me personally Finding Juliet is a decent book but surely could have been better. You will eventually enjoy reading this book if you are not too picky about the details like me. But yes this book does beautifully clarifies the difference between Love and Lust which the current generation often misinterprets. To rate this book, I would give this book 3.5 stars out of 5. Review of Broken Jars, A Fistful Of Dreams

Often times we look at the societal problems from one side and often ignore the other side of the coin. The book which we are reviewing today does exactly that. Broken Jars: A Fistful Of Dreams is a book written by five authors and highlight the problems which are prevailing in the society. Before beginning with the review, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Dolly Koshy for sending the book for the review via goodreads.

So lets start with the review and quickly take a look at the synopsis of the book.

Note: Best enjoyed with a cup of coffee or tea and an open mind.

When we grow up, we are often exposed to the bright and better sight of the society. We start having preconceived notions about the society in general and the way in which the society behaves. Anything which doesn't fit into our preconceived notions, we start feeling a sense of awkward demeanor towards that. We start stereotyping things and society in general. This book aims at demolishing these stereotypes and our preconceived notions bringing out the a very different aspect of the human nature in the limelight.

A very interesting about the book is that it is being written by five authors authors in an interesting fashion. The five authors are Amal Charles, Dolly Koshy, Merina Diana Moris, Pinaki Gosh and Shelley Das. All these authors are debut authors and all how done really well in conceptualizing and contemplating the entire story of the book. However, I did feel there was downside to this aspect as well.

The authors have portrayed and narrated the journey of seven people and their stories. For me frankly, it was very difficult to keep up with the details of each and every individual and this kind of wane my interest in the book slightly. I seriously wished that if the authors could have reduced the number of characters in the book it would have been a lot easier for the readers to stay with each and every characters story with confusion.

Also, the transitioning between the characters and there story was not that great as well. Don't get me wrong, the transitioning was not bad but it was also not interesting as well.The transitioning between the characters and their stories could have helped the readers by making it easy for the readers to keep up with the stories of the characters.

However, I must say that the narration and the writing of each of the authors was really nice and considering the fact that all these authors are debutante, they did an amazing job in this aspect.

The USP of the book is undoubtedly the theme of the book. This book touches very sensitive issues which are still prevailing in the society and we kind of keep a deaf year to them. All these sensitive issues are being smartly essayed and portrayed by each and every author of this book. Kudos to all the authors of the book for portrayed such content in such a smart way. To understand the gravity of the issues, it is very much essential that you read this book in a calm environment and have an open mind. So, if you are a person who easily gets offended when their believes are challenged, then this book is not for you.

That was all related to the content of the book. However, I wasn't much impressed with the aesthetic of the book. The book was written in very small font and I felt like I was straining my eyes in order to read the content of the book. The possible reason for this could be to condense the book in a smaller form factor. If written in a proper font, the book could easily be some 500-600 pages long, but right now that much long content is crushed into 280 pages long. Also, I felt that the verses which were written at the start of each and every chapter were misleading. I wished the author could have paid a little more attention to all these aspect which could have made reading this book a much more pleasurable experience.

So to sum up, this book has really interesting and have good content but it lack in some aspect. It was an OK sort of a book for me and surely a one time read. However, I do appreciate the effort and intention of each and every author of this book and approaching the societal problems in such a sensible way. This book gathered mixed reactions among the reading community and I wanted to see what this book is actually about. I liked the synopsis of this book and was really looking to read this book for quite a long time and today I finally have this book. So lets quickly get done with the synopsis and dive immediately into the review.

The title of the book is surely captivating and given the fact that this book is being Amazon's Bestseller, it is quite natural for anyone to pick this book up, but before you actually do....hear me out.

The story line is pretty generic and you won't find anything new in the story. Girl meets boy who is pursuing a profession which he is not passionate about. They both meet each other and falls in love however the boy can't be in a relationship since he has some past grudges and can't get over them. One incident happens in the near future which forces him to reconsider his decision. Pretty generic story plot indeed. Now the only thing which could make this book good is a stellar narration and writing.

Before jumping to the narration and writing part, lets take a look at the characters in the story.The entire story revolves around two central characters, Meera and Vivaan. There are two more characters, Kabir and Nisha who are pretty much involved in the main story line and play a significant role in shaping the story of our two main protagonist. The thing which bothered me is that Savi Sharma have not given much details about the background of the characters and as the story progresses, it feels pretty difficult to stay with the story and the characters as you simply can't connect with the characters as all the characters feels strange and unknown to me while reading the story.

Coming to the narration part. Savi Sharma has narrated the story in the first person's perspective with constant shift between Meera and Vivaan's character. The transitions between the characters seems decent, neither too good neither too bad. The novel seems struggling in the way the story is written. All the chapters felt like individual pieces and they were completely disconnected for major part of the story. I won't deny at a certain point in the second half, this book did grab my attention with the story sequence however it didn't lasted for too long because of lack of connect with the characters. A little dive into the characters life and history would help the readers to get familiarize with the characters. The main character of Meera still feels unknown and strange to me even after completing the whole story.

Also this book did left many questions unanswered. This book kept playing guessing game continuously while I was trying to make sense of all the things. Yes, I agree this is Savi Sharma's debut book and she does deserve appreciation for beginning her writing endeavor, but still this book didn't do much a good in my frank opinion. It might be due to my high expectations. One thing I will do like to mention here that I felt really bad the way the community has reacted on the Amazon, where people kept bashing negatively about the author. It would be really great if they could point out the areas as well so that the author could work upon those in her next novel. I really appreciate Savi Sharms's effort but yes this book does feel like its been hyped a bit.

So to sum up, this book is way too much speculative for my liking. For me it was a one time read and I won't recommend this book. To rate this book,I would give this book 2.5 stars out of 5. Still if you want to give this book a try, here are links to the Amazon for the same.

If you are a person like me who likes to see new places and get engrossed in the scenic beauty of the nature often encountered while travelling, then you will be in delight as today we are reviewing Colorful Notions written by Mohit Goyal. Colorful Notions is a book where three young people go on a road trip across India and this book is a result of their encounters during their road trip.

Lets quickly go through the synopsis and jump straight to my impressions regarding the book.

I doubted if I'd ever have the gumption to create such experiences. So I did the next big thing - I penned a book about them, and their road trip.

A big thanks to the author Mohit Goyal for providing a copy of this book via goodreads. I can't express the contentment I felt after completing this book. I was so used to reading the same type of books often and often that I badly wanted to read something different. Colorful Notions came as a savior. This book not only provided me with a much needed change but also inspired me to follow my passion.

Colorful Notions is a beautifully crafted and narrated book about the road trip which three young people take. This book gets everything correct which majority of the young people experience in the current time, right from defying our parents advice to hopping on to our own adventures. This book perfectly transcends the carefree nature of the youths and their passion towards their career. This book has everything which you can expect or rather I should say this book offers more than what you can expect from a travel book.

I just love all the three characters in the story. They are so simple yet they are very relatable to the youths of our generation. The best thing about the book is the narration which gives a very casual vibe synonymous to the casual nature of the current youths, While reading this book I felt like I am actually visiting all the places mentioned in the book. That kind of impact this book had on me. If you are never been on the road trip before then this book will surely motivate you to be on one.

In the present times it is often considered that the youths are ignorant towards the beauty of actual world and real relations whether it be with their parents, friends or their loved ones and they only care about their virtual presence and their virtual friends. However, that is not true at all. Yes, sometimes we do take relationships for granted but it is not like we are completely ignorant about them or we don't care at all. This book highlights that aspect very well. This book actually personifies the current youth with regards to their passion for their career and their relationships. Kudos to Mohit Goyal for writing such a fantastic book..

I liked this book because it feels much more relatable and the things mentioned in the book can happen in the actual world. However at two places, I felt like those things simply can't happen. The first one was when Abhay meets his mother and the second one was the interaction of Abhay and Shashank with the robbers. Yes I am nitpicking those incidents but I feel those things could have improved to give a much more realistic experience to the readers while reading these two incidents. However, I do like the way Mohit Goyal picked up the entire story immediately after these incidents and making the ending, my favorite part the most enjoyable part of the book.

So to sum up, I highly recommend this book to everyone and since the holiday season is coming up, this will be really a nice time to read this book and go on a vacation or a road trip with your friends or your loved ones. To rate this book, I would give this book 4.5 stars out of 5. I simply can't wait to get my hands on the next installment of the series. Her earlier work Manhattan Mango has been well received among the reading community. Before beginning with the review of today's book Strongman's Daughter, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the Finger Print Publication for providing a copy of this book for the review purpose via goodreads.

Lets start the review with the story and plot sequence itself. This is an very good story line and while reading this book, I was constantly feeling like I am reading some sort of bollywood movie  script where the protagonist of the story, i.e. Aditi Narvekar was frustrated and annoyed due to the lack of freedom which she has experienced during her childhood because of growing in very strict environment of her powerful father, the antagonist of the story, i.e Vithalrao Narvekar and her struggle from her tyrannic father's regime. I am quite sure you would love the story line too.

The characters in the story are very much relatable and I sort of connected immediately with characters. The character development of Vithalrao Narvekar right from the beginning is simply amazing. I really loved how his character is developed as the story progresses. The story keeps revolving around the few central characters. However there were couple of characters which I feel could have been used in a better way, for eg. the character of Steve.

The writing is top notch and the entire book is written in the first person's view, i.e in Aditi's perspective. The writing is pretty simple and Madhuri Iyer has use simple English with not too fancy vocabulary which I feel is very nice as more people could enjoy this book. Kudos to Madhuri Iyer for the writing part.

This book also highlights the cliched concepts of inheriting the fathers position in the political system which we often see in the Indian politics. The real life political references given in between the stories adds to the fun element. The second cliched concept which is being highlighted is the institution of marriage where the daughter is forcefully married to someone by the father for his professional benefits. This elements builds up an excitement level while reading this book.

However, not everything is nice about this book. This book clearly struggles in the narration department. The story starts around the New York memories of Aditi and goes on building into the actual story. However when the actual story was being narrated, I was completely clueless about Aditi's New York friends while Aditi keeps reminding me of them. Also at a point the story starts taking a complete fictional route and the activities which were taking place can only be seen in the typical bollywood movies. Remember earlier I mention that the story felt like a reading a bollywood script, I am quite sure many of you would feel the same. Also towards the end, the story becomes a disaster and left me clueless as to what was happening and why those things were happening. Clearly, the end was a disaster.

So to sum up the review, this book has really a nice story but a bad execution of the same. Surely this book could have been much...much better and actually has the potential of becoming an interesting read. To rate this book, I will give this book 2 stars out of 5. This Can't Be Happening is one such which highlights this aspects. Before beginning with the review, I'll like to express my sincere gratitude to Neha Singh for providing a copy of this book for review purpose.

Here is a brief synopsis of the book followed by video trailer to quickly get you acquainted with the story.

As stated in the synopsis, "This Can't Be Happening" is a story of young girl Lavanya and her life and her struggle with her thoughts. The theme of the book is pretty simple but the story is very interesting.

This book is about friendship and love. The transitioning of Lavanya and Siddharth's friendship to love. Pretty good and simple theme which many of us will relate to very easily as everyone surely would have gone through this feeling.

Neha Singh has used a pretty simple language.which actually gives this book a very casual vibe when you start reading it. The narration is also pretty interesting and I really liked the way Neha Singh kept a level of excitement and element of surprise as she keep reminding the reader about Meera almost in every chapter. This actually kinda keep you hook you to the story and forces you to reading the story further to know more about the surprise element.

One more interesting thing about the book is that Neha Singh frequently keeps mentioning about the Science. Being an engineering student myself, I really loved this aspect. Even if you don't belong to the scientific community, Neha Singh has explained those processes in a fun and interesting way which will actually give you a taste of what a research scholars usually does. Kudos to Neha Singh for bringing in such interesting element. The best thing about the book which I really liked and used to eagerly wait after reading few pages is the frequent poems which I am quite sure many of you will love it. These poems actually gives this book a more personal perspective and lets the reader connect with the story immediately. Here is the poem I liked the most which actually explains the entire book in just few lines and which I keep reading it frequently,

Soulmate

I knew you would feel me,

The story is actually narrated in the first persons perspective. The perspective being of the central character Lavanya. In this story you will come across many characters but the actually story revolves around few selective characters such as that of Lavanya, Siddharth, Shreya, Gautam and Sona. And yes (I almost forget to mention)....this book also has a very important social message which I feel everyone should abide by. To know more about this message and about the Meera, you will have to read the book. I won't ruin that surprise element by mentioning it here.

Like I said, there were minor characters which were frequently mentioned while the story kept rotating around the central characters. I couldn't connect with the these minor characters as I connected with the central characters as very little information was given about these minor characters. Also you will surely enjoy the beginning as well as the end of the book, but the middle section of the book actually dropped the pace of the entire story. I would have loved if the middle section had few plot twists which will surely have made this story a little more interesting.

Still this book is very interesting and definitely a goodread. I thoroughly enjoyed myself reading this book and was hooked on to this book. To give you an idea as to how much I was hooked to this book, I was having my end semester exams for the past two weeks. Whenever I was taking breaks from my studies, I was immediately picking this book up and was reading it.

So if you are a person who is looking to read a simple, interesting and very nicely little story with few plot twists, them I think you should definitely read this book. I am quite sure, you will love this book. To rate this book, I will give this book 4.5 stars out of 5.This is a very beautiful book and worth reading I will surely recommend this book to all my friends and family. Being a person who loves reading short stories, I am always fascinated and eager to read more short stories. I believe, it takes great knack to writing to write a really brilliant and compelling short story which can immediately connect with the readers and convey the complex story in just few words. Romance Shorts is one such short stories book where the author Sourabh Mukherjee has compiled four short story which conveys great amount of emotions to all the readers.

Love!!! Such a beautiful feeling which each and every person should experience. The only feeling in my opinion which doesn't discriminates based on your cast, creed or race. You don't need any language to let others know that you are in love. You don't need any language to express that you are in love. Some people express their love through actions, some people express it through music and some people like me who expresses it  through their writing. Love is a selfless devotion to make the person you love happy. In fact, you  don't even need a person in order to experience this feeling. You can love you work, your art or even yourself.

Romance Shorts is a collection of four contemporary romance short stories which highlights what selfless love is. Romance Short will take you on a journey of four people who are narrating their stories and expressing their feelings and emotions by means of 4 beautifully written short stories.

I must say all the four stories are very well written and conceptualized. Each story will keep you high on the emotional front and you simply won't be able to keep the book down until you complete the book. And since this book is just 50 pages long, you should easily be able to finish the book in one sitting. If you have ever been in love (which I am quite sure many of us will have), then reading these stories will surely freshen up those memories in your mind. On top of this, the writing and narration is simple and lucid, which lets the actual story and the emotions of the author do the talking for major part in the entire book.

Though, the book is nicely written and each chapter brings a new situation to the story, but I kind of lack a connectivity between the four stories. All the four stories are good on the independent front, but since all this stories are part of a single book, I would have loved if all those stories are linked somehow. That could have been like cherry on top of the cake. Also after few chapters, the reader are so high on the emotional quotient that the remainder of the story couldn't keep up the pace with the book.

Apart from these two things, Romance Shorts is a nice and interesting book which many of us will easily relate to. My personal favorite of all the stories in this book is "Nargis Through My Summers". To rate this book, I will give this one 3.5 stars out of 5. If you are a person who loves reading romance books and who wants to try short stories, this book will surely cater to your needs. Dating down is the probably my third Alex Dunn book and I really wanted to read this as Alex Dunn, I personally feel is a great writer and narrator and I simply can't contain myself from reading her books. So here is my review of Dating Down written by Alex Dunn. Before beginning with the review, I'll like to express my sincere gratitude to the author Alex Dunn for providing a copy of this book for review.

Dating Down is a really simple, sweet and gripping romance book which you can enjoy while travelling through metro, or waiting for your flight or even while you are enjoying the breakfast. Unlike other novels where you immediately understand that the story is so good that it can't be happening in the real world, the story line followed in Dating Down seems true which can actually happen in the real world and is much more relatable. This is one such book which I find it extremely difficult to keep down. It is not the story of this book which makes this book brilliant, it is the way in which the story is being portrayed and written. Here is section-wise analysis of Dating Down.

If someone ask me to describe the cover in just one word, I'll say STUNNING. I an in love with the cover of this book. The cover in a way describes the writing style which Alex Dunn has adopted for this novel.

Story:

This book depicts story of two people Tammy and Gary who meet each other coincidentally and this coincidence became their entire reality. You might wonder that this story sounds just like many other stories out there, so why should I read this book??...Yes it quite natural to have those questions and my answer to this is simply because of the writing of Alex Dunn which make this common story extraordinary. It is a story where two people who belongs to different class of the society yet they share common social problems and wants to find the love of their life.

Characters:

There are not many characters in this entire story, actually there are only two central characters around which the entire story revolves. All the characters feel real and genuine to me and I immediately feel connected to the two central characters. Alex Dunn has spent a great amount of time in conceptualizing and developing the characters and there interactions with the other characters, which actually reflects in her writing.

Writing Style:

Alex Dunn has written this novel in the form of time stamps. Writing the series of events in the chronological order just as we write a diary. While reading as well, I felt like I am reading someone's personal diary. This actually made me easy to emotionally connect with the central characters as well. I really love this kind of writing style. Kudos to Alex Dunn for choosing such writing style.

Narration:

This is probably the best thing about the book. Having reading previous books by the authors, I must say I really love Alex Dunn's writing and narrating style. This is the reason why I like reading her books. And she doesn't disappoints in this novel as well. When you start reading this book, Kathy  will take you on the journey of the two characters and you will surely feel as if the story is unfolding in front of your eyes and might feel like a you are watching a play in a theater. Such kind of impact this book had on me. Alex Dunn has narrated this book in perspective of two central characters with continuous switching between the characters. And the transitioning between the characters is butter-smooth. The kind of transitioning and the narration will leave you confused as for whom you should actually sympathize.

Story Build-up:

While reading any of Alex Dunn books, you will definitely like the way she builds up the story along with the characters. The same thing happens in this book as well. As the story progresses, the excitement of the readers also increases with each passing page and the pace of the story also increases towards the end. The story not only builds your interest in the story plot but will also leave you high on the emotional quotient. Like I said earlier, the inter-character transitioning is also butter smooth.

Oh Wait!!

Did I mention that this book is just 134 page long. Yes, you read it right, This is a pretty small book with great story and with exceptional narration. This book manages to score so high despite being pretty small as compared to rest of the other books.

Yes at the end, since the story paces a little, some readers might find it difficult to stay with the story, especially those who are not used to reading a fast paced book. Also at the end, there was a like a big time leap. I really wish, that few more chapters could have been added there which could have been a little easier for the readers. Don't get me wrong, the end is nothing sort of a bog twist which is revealing itself, its just that while moving towards the end, I was so engrossed emotionally that the end I feel was sudden. Still this thing is definitely not a deal-breaker for me personally.

So to sum up, another great book from Alex Dunn. This book is very well written and is full of drama. Also this book does highlights some of the serious issues which are prevailing in the society in a fun and playful way. If you are a person who like reading Romance books, you will surely like this book. And if you are into reading Young Adult Fiction as well, then you will surely love this book. To rate this book, I will give this book 5 stars out of 5. I will surely be recommending this book to all my friends. This book is still not out yet. Today I am going to review a book from another debutante author Neel Aruna C. Here debut novel A Bride From Moon is her first book in the series Dance of Lord. I would like to mention here that I got this book via goodreads giveaway program.

So lets begin the review with a brief synopsis of the book:

I must say I was taken by surprise how the book turn out to be. When I first heard about the book, I was very skeptical about the book. Not a big fan of reading a mythological thriller, I was having very less expectations from this book, but I have to mention that this book did prove me wrong.

Being a debutante, its a nice attempt by the author Neel Aruna C. The back of the book mentions "Frustrated Engineer" but I must say this book surely doesn't looks like its being written by a frustrated engineer.

I think the book could have been better in various aspects. First the narration, there is much more room for improvement in my frank opinion. The beginning of the book started with the mythological aspects. The author could have tried a little more to get more details of this fictional world she has was creating. Don't get me wrong, she has got few details but more details would have been better for readers in visualizing the details.

Also the writing part could have been a little better. Neel Aruna C in her writing was trying to be descriptive rather than been narrative. I feel that instead of expressing the emotions with words, she could have expressed the gestures through actions of her characters. I think that would have been much more relatable to the audience. Given the fact that this is her debut novel, I believed we can slightly overlook this aspect, but still I want you guys to know.

The characters where very well conceptualized and I really like all the characters in the book. Really enjoyed the journey of both the characters throughout the book. The element which got me by surprise is the thriller element which came in the second half of the book. That was the last thing which I could think of before reading this book. Kudos to the author for bring in such a great twist. This surprise element actually grab my intention and made this book interesting to me.

The best thing what I like about this book is the spiritual elements in the book. After few chapters there is a spiritual or rather I should say a mythological narrations which actually gives a gist to the readers what next few chapters of the book will be like. Also I really liked the way Neel Aruna C has linked those spiritual narration with the story. The author earns extra brownie points from my side for this element.

Also I really liked the way the author ended this book. She completed the story yet she created a suspense element which kept the audience hanging on to the cliff. I personally feel that Neel Aruna C should make the second book more sort of thriller rather than the mythological one. Just my frank opinion.

So to sum up, if you are a person who likes reading mythological fiction, then you might give this book a try. Considering the fact this is a debut book of Neel Aruna C, I must say this is a very nice attempt. Yes there are few areas where this book could improve on, but definitely worth considering if you are a mythological fiction reader. To rate this book, I will give this book 3 stars out of 5.

So coming to the question, Will I read the next installment in the series?....the answer will be"It depends". It depends on the ease with which I can get the next installment. Control - R M Gauthier Review

Few weeks back I posted the review of Longing which happens to be the prequel to the book titled Control written by R.M Gauthier. After reading Longing, I was very much interested and keen to read Control and here I am today reviewing it. Just in case you haven't check out and don't know about Longing, click here. Before beginning with the review, I'll like to express my sincere gratitude to Renee for providing a copy of this book.

So lets start with the review but before beginning with the review, here is a brief synopsis of the book to get you acquainted with the story line:

Lets cut the crap and gets straight to the point. While reading the book I am quite sure many people will try to relate and compare it with 50 Shades Of Grey as both the books has depicted the concept of BDSM, but the difference being Control falls under the thriller category. I like the story line of this book more than 50 Shades Of Grey . Being a fond reader of books in mystery and thriller category, I really enjoyed reading this story line.

Coming to the characters and the narration of the story, the characters feel much more real, genuine and relatable to me as compare to the 'Ana and Christian' from 50 Shades Of Grey. I was completely hooked on to the book right from the beginning and the story keeps on getting better. The way Renee has build suspense  right from the beginning and keeps on continuing till the end is impeccable. Also she has kept the tone of the book light and funny which makes this book an interesting read. Renee has used first person style of narration and has done an immensely great job in doing it. The kind of details she brought through her writing of this alternate lifestyle is pretty impressive and I almost felt like I am watching the entire story unfold right in front of my eyes,The way the characters and their story is build and the transition of the story along the time is pretty amazing. I really like Renee's writing style.

The book is full of mystery elements which won't allow you keep the book down until you compelte the book. The best thing what I felt about this book is the way Renee has handled such a sensitive topic of BDSM, which many people are still not ready to accept and are judgmental. Renee has described the entire scenario of the alternate life of the people who are open to such endeavors without being judgmental.

I couldn't specifically find any points regarding cons of this book. The only thing which I can think of is why this book belong to a series? I badly want to know what happens further in the story. I would also like to mention here that the book's content is suitable for adult audience.

So to sum up, I really like this book. If you think 50 Shades Of Grey is good, then you would love this book. This only thing which I'll like to say is, if you really want to enjoy this book, just be rational and keep an open-mindset and don't be judgmental. So coming to the golden question, will I read the next book in the series? My answer would be "Hell yeah I would be interested in reading the next installment in the series. To rate this book,  I would give this book 5 stars out of 5. I highly recommend you reading this book.
